Welcome to the first TMAD Forecast of June! Today kicks off the real summer here at the CCAG, and around the Central Valley, high temperatures into the 100s are expected within the next days! As a high pressure area out in the Pacific Ocean moves towards California, most inland cities will expect temperatures over 100ºF. Death Valley will likely see more extreme temperatures, with 110ºF highs and 90º lows. Luckily, San Francisco will stay cool in the mid 70-s and the high 50-s at night.
The TMAD, like the Mojave Desert is expected to experience heat as well. Wednesday, the peak of the heat wave, is expected to reach mid-100s inside the TMAD, with nighttime lows of 70s. Remember, the TMAD's heat is obtained from the same sun that Death Valley gets its heat from - but the greenhouse protects it from the coastal breeze of San Francisco.
So stay safe and don't die over the next week!
