We are excited to share that some of our clovers have flowered over this week, with a flooding amount of rain and hail.
Our clover seeds and the whole TMAD is coming to life this spring. Although the chia is still small, we are happy that bugs aren't destroying the crop. Instead of April 15, the Chia bloom will probably postponed to a month later.
Here are the clover seeds a week ago. Right now, the flowers have closed up and started making seed pods. These will drop to the ground and will bloom next spring.
The TMAD, which in the past has been a pond and a native California Sand Dune Garden, is now filled with mallows, clovers and chia.
TMAD Weather Forecast.
How we determine the weather: We aren't guessing. A thermometer in the TMAD gives us the temp, which we predict using some theories. Since the TMAD is roughy the same temp as the outside at night, the lows will be pretty much the same as the outside. The highs are on average 1-20ºF hotter depending on the conditions on the outside (rainy, foggy, cloudy, sunny etc.)
