Due to space related complications, we are not continuing our New England tank build. The space that is left will be the Skink habitat and the Eberhart Aquarium. In this post we'll review all of our habitats and their current status.

  1. Happy nature Sanctuary = Under construction. We are waiting for a more powerful UV filter and an aquarium cooler, which will cool the water during summer months

  2. Hawaii Habitat: Recently renovated. we added over a dozen new plant species. We are watering the habitat every day, which promotes growth of mosses, bromeliads, ferns and tropical plants who need large amounts of water to grow.

  3. Redwood habitat: Recently renovated. We added mosses that were collected from Oregon and due to a plastic shield creating condensation, the exhibit stays moist often

  4. Eberhart aquarium: Under construction. See above (happy nature Sanctuary). We are still trying to figure out how to maintain cold water temps

  5. Lizard habitat: Under construction (minor landscaping issue) we are adding more branches and rocks, as well as some live plants. We have purchased several lights to heat the tank and give supplemental nutrients. We are planning to split the habitat into two: the regular habitat will become the Fence lizard/wall lizard habitat, and the second unbuilt habitat will become the alligator lizard/skink habitat
