Yesterday, our drone, the HappyCraft 2, reached an altitude of 330 feet, the highest the drone has ever reached, and 70 feet below the maximum drone height legal for my area. From the footage, you can see the normal features that the drone captures at 50 feet: Mt. Davidson, Miraloma Park, Daly City, the San Bruno Mountains and Sutro Tower. This was an amazing feat; most drones flying above houses crash at 200 feet with trees and nearby objects. This couldn't have been without the help of GPS. After the maximum altitude was reached, the internal GPS system found it's way to the exact space it lifted off from.
