"California's Diverse ecosystems" was renamed into "Pacific coast Ecosystems." Why? Because we are taking 2 trips out of California in the next months that explore different ecosystems.

  1. Seattle, Washington. The Puget Sound waters surrounding Seattle is an estuary, and during low tides, we will take underwater videos and drone footage of the tidal flats that are exposed. Some creatures that we are excited to film include the Red Rock Crab, Pacific Gaper Clam, Bay Ghost Shrimp and the Moonglow Anemone. The surrounding Olympic National Park gives us a chance to explore the (mild) rainforests of Washington. Many ferns, mosses, trees and gastropods thrive there, such as the Douglas Fir, Pacific Banana Slug and Bay Laurel.

  2. Maui, Hawaii. This will be our first opportunity to film in a coral reef ecosystem and in a (hot + humid) rainforest. We are excited to explore the reefs and tidepools of Hawaii to see Thin Shelled Rock Crabs (island counterpart of Striped Shore Crabs), Cone Shell Hermit Crab (island counterpart of Blue Band Hermit Crab), birds, fish, corals, bivalves, native plants and more.

We can't wait to go places - so stay tuned for more updates.
