The Desert Bloom Dies

Over the week, the TMAD got so hot, some of the clover burrs have burnt. As a result, we had to remove most of the clovers, grasses and chia (low growing annuals) in order to prevent future fires. In replacement, the seeds from the clovers were saved for next season. Out of 3 plants, we harvested almost 100 seeds! Our mallow plants are still alive because they are more fire resistant and have thicker bark. In place, we have planted more cholla plants, more native cacti including the beavertail, and we are hoping to get a hold a a Creosote Bush, a native Mojave Desert bush.
